Inge Maiberg

2023 Global Athlete Congress Participant

Inge Maiberg is an athlete from Special Olympics Estonia in the Europe Eurasia Region. Inge participates in swimming. She has been involved in Special Olympics since 2014.

Inge’s favorite part about Special Olympics is seeing athletes and the joy they have at the time of training and competitions.

Inge is excited for the congress in Berlin. She is looking forward to getting new ideas and seeing athletes from around the globe.

Inge is employed as a cleaner in a cafe. When Inge isn’t working or competing, she enjoys painting, singing, being with friends, and walking. In the winter Inge enjoys ice swimming.

Inge says that being an athlete leader means that she can create opportunities to make athletes life better and more meaningful. Being an athlete leader also helps Inge learn about leadership so that she can become a better leader herself.

Project Description

Inge’s grant plan is a camp to train new athletes and youth leaders. Attendees of the camp will gain new experiences and skills as well as courage and friendship. The training camp will be 3 days in length and sessions during the camp will alternate between training and sports activities. The project will combine Special Olympics athletes, Unified Partners, and coaches. It is Inge’s hope that camp attendees will use their skills and knowledge in the future. Evaluation will be based on feedback received from attendees at the conclusion of camp.
